As with previous versions, FIFA 23 will be available in three different editions: Standard Edition, Ultimate Edition, and Legacy Edition.

The Standard Edition will cost $59.99 (£59.99), which is in line with the price of most major video game releases.

The Ultimate Edition will cost $99.99 (£89.99), but users will be able to play the game three days earlier on the pre-release date.

The Legacy Edition, which has updated rosters but “without any new development or significant changes,” will cost $39.99 (£34.99) and is a throwback to earlier iterations. This is primarily for the Legacy Edition of the Nintendo Switch. It will not include any of the new gaming modes or the new HyperMotion 2 technology advancements. This is essentially FIFA 22 with a few small improvements.

EA Sports FC – what is it?

The association between EA Sports and FIFA, the organization that governs the world, will come to an end with FIFA 23’s most recent iteration.

The World Cup will no longer be included in the game as an official FIFA event after this release, and no future games will use the FIFA name or logo. Instead, EA Sports FC will be the new name of the franchise.

After months of discussions on extending their current partnership, the two parties were unable to agree on future conditions. EA Sports and FIFA came to an agreement to extend the current contract until the FIFA Women’s World Cup in July and August of 2023, even though it was originally scheduled to terminate in December 2022.

The game will change to EA Sports FC once the agreement expires. Little about the game’s structure or gameplay will fundamentally change following the separation, however the name will be different and the game’s visuals may alter.

In the company’s official statement, EA Sports stated that EA SPORTS FC will enable them to actualize this future and much more…but not before we offer our most expansive game yet with their current naming rights partner, FIFA, for one more year. The next FIFA will have more features, game modes, World Cup information, clubs, leagues, competitions, and players than any previous FIFA game, they’re devoted to making sure of that.
