 Japanese game studio Kojima teamed up with Anicorn and NASA to launch a space-inspired watch, limited to 600 pieces.

 

Hideo Kojima is the designer of many famous game series such as Metal Gear or Death Stranding . Kojima Productions, a game company founded by Kojima whose mascot is an astronaut. That was the inspiration for Kojima to collaborate with the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and design firm Anicorn to launch the Space Ludens watch.

 

Anicorn is a Hong Kong high-end watch design company that has collaborated with Daniel Arsham, Philip Colbert, M/M Paris and NASA to launch unique watch collections.

 

The Space Ludens, a watch model created by Anicorn in partnership with Kojima, is NASA-certified with a square body and round face. The general design of the watch includes the NASA logo, specific details about technology and the mission of the US space agency.

 

The dial of the Space Ludens is quite similar to an electronic circuit board, with silver circular motifs and gold embossing. The 4 corners on the body of the watch have 4 gold screws, replicating the details on the spacesuit of Ludens, the mascot of Kojima Productions. The ring between the hands is also yellow.

 

The strap of the Space Ludens is made of stainless steel with a single link, designed to resemble the belt buckle of a spaceship seat. The watch box also comes with a leather strap with embossed carbon motifs.

 

The square body of Space Ludens uses 316L stainless steel with a diagonal size of 39 mm, the total length between the two wire ends is 49 mm, 50 m water resistance support. Both the front and back glass of the watch use sapphire crystal, the back also has the logo of Kajima Productions.

 

Thanks to the sapphire crystal material, users can clearly see the Miyota 8215 movement from the back of the Space Ludens. The watch movement is made in Japan with an oscillation frequency of 21,600 vph, 48-hour power reserve, error from -20 to 40s/day.

 

According to Fratello Watches , Space Ludens includes 2 limited editions. The Space Ludens Limited Edition model has 500 pieces and is priced at $940 . Meanwhile, the Rare Edition with Ludens mask, priced at $ 1,540 with 100 pieces produced.
