Features ‘forgotten’ by Apple on AirPods Pro 2

Although the new generation AirPods Pro is greatly upgraded in terms of hardware, there is still an important feature on this product that Apple has neglected.

Apple announced the next version of AirPods Pro during the past “Far Out” event. Apple’s latest wireless headphones have an unchanged design but improved in many technological aspects. However, there is still an important feature that has not been mentioned by Apple.

Before the launch of AirPods Pro 2, there were rumors that this headset would support lossless music quality on Apple Music. Unfortunately, the specs page of the new ‌AirPods Pro‌ 2 doesn’t mention this feature.

Although Apple has upgraded the more powerful H2 chip, as well as the Bluetooth 5.3 standard, this Bluetooth standard does not have a codec for lossless music transmission. Therefore, AirPods Pro Gen 2 still cannot support lossless music format as expected by users.

With it taking up to 3 years to upgrade to the new life cycle, it may take a while longer for users to enjoy high-quality music on AirPods Pro. If Apple does not think about this soon, other brands’ headphones will likely surpass AirPods Pro.

Currently, Qualcomm is very actively developing chips for wireless headphones that support lossless music and maybe this feature will soon be available in the high-end headset market.

Except for this shortcoming, the ‌AirPods Pro‌ 2 still has some notable new features. Active Noise Canceling (ANC) on the predecessor AirPods Pro is highly appreciated by experts.

According to The Verge , the device can almost completely eliminate noise when users take the subway, bus or join traffic. However, Apple claims the new H2 chip on AirPods Pro 2 can cancel noise twice as well.

In addition, with the H2 chip, the Transparency Mode will also be improved. Apple calls this new feature Adaptive Transparency, and the company says the new AirPods Pro can “reduce loud noises like passing car horns, construction site noises, or even concert speakers.” music”.

AirPods Pro 2 also has another long-awaited feature that is touch control. Users can decrease or increase the volume by sliding their finger on the body of the AirPods.

The battery life used on this product is also significantly improved. Apple claims that the charging case for the headset is also improved when it comes to charging for up to 30 hours, while the old model is only 24 hours.

In addition, there will be many security upgrades to help users easily find their headphones through the Find My application and the built-in speaker. At the same time, the charging box of AirPods Pro 2 is also equipped with places to thread more safety straps.

Finally, the company is adding more ear cushions in different sizes so that the AirPods Pro 2 can fit the user’s ears better.

AirPods Pro 2 will officially be on sale from September 23 in the US market for $ 249 .
