Apple quietly launches new device in October

Apple may just issue press releases for next month’s products, instead of holding an online event.

According to a new report by DigiTimes , Apple plans to release new MacBook models in the fourth quarter. Also confirming this, Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman also said that Mac and iPad models using the M2 chip will be introduced in October.

However, the company will only send out press releases and not events to introduce new products. This approach is similar to how Apple introduced the iPhone SE 2 years ago.

In June, just a few days after Apple unveiled the MacBook Air M2 and MacBook Pro M2, Bloomberg said the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models could ship as early as 2023. These MacBooks don’t appear to be picking up. Many improvements compared to its predecessor. However, it is still equipped with the more powerful M2 Max chip with 12 CPU cores and up to 38 GPU cores.

In addition, this report also confirms that the 15-inch MacBook Air is expected to launch in the spring of 2023 at the latest. Meanwhile, the 12-inch MacBook Air model could appear as early as 2024.

Recently, in August, Bloomberg reported that the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBooks are “under development and testing”. They could be released as early as this fall. Well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also gave similar information and said that new MacBook Pro models will appear in the fourth quarter of 2022.

According to The Verge , Apple usually introduces new hardware in October and this year is no exception. However, the specific hardware announced at the event has changed over the years.

However, new product reports suggest that Apple will most likely stick to last year’s schedule and announce a new MacBook Pro next month. In particular, the new processor and performance will be the most noticeable upgrade this year, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Analyst Kuo also predicts that the new processor could be the M2 Max chip but has not yet used the 3 nm structure. Kuo expects the new MacBook Pro to be built on the same process as this year’s MacBook M2 models, using an advanced 5 nm node.
